BJP president Rajnath Singh, senior leaders Jaswant Singh and Venkaiah Naidu were among those who reached early at his 30, Prithviraj Road residence to wish him.
Chief ministers of BJP-ruled states also turned up to greet the Leader of the Opposition.
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi was, however, conspicuous by his absence.
Wishes from BJP patriarch A B Vajpayee were conveyed to Advani by the ailing leader's nephew Ranjan Bhattacharya.
President Pratibha Patil, Vice President Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh wished him over phone.
