Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani on Thursday admitted that the 'feel good' factor in Indian economy is yet to spread to the farming sector.
The government has unleashed an ad campaign centered around this 'feel good' factor. The campaign among other things talks of India's giant strides in technology sector, of prime minister's Golden Quadrilateral national highways project and of bulging forex reserves
"Our government believes there is a good feeling in the country," Advani told a group of farmers from various parts of
Haryana who called on him to express their gratitude for the government's decision to waive capital gains tax for farmers.
"But we feel, the feel-good will really be so when the farming community says so. Today, they are not saying so although various sections of the society are saying it," Advani said.
Noting that the agriculturists are facing some problems, he assured that steps would be taken to address these.
The visiting farmers' group was late by more than an hour for their appointment with Advani.
