Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani on Sunday said the message of Shyamaprasad Mookerjee of national unity has relevance in the present context when the country was passing through a critical phase.
"Therefore, to realise his dreams through his message having special significance, I have arrived in Kolkata to make the people aware of its relevance at a critical phase," Advani said at Kolkata.
"I want to share Shyamaprasad Mookerjee's dreams with the people of Kolkata," Advani said. The deputy prime minister was in Kolkata to take part in the birth centenary celebration of Shyamaprasad Mookherjee said.
Advani would also be visiting Belur Math, the headquarters of Ramakrishna Mission in the neighbouring Howrah district.
He was received at the airport by Governor Viren J Shah, Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharjee among others.
Before departing for New Delhi later in the day, he visited the ancestral home of Swami Vivekananda in north Kolkata.
