A television actress and assistant director was remanded to police custody in Mumbai till June 14 on charges of stealing her colleague's credit cards and using them to purchase expensive consumer items.
Shruti Bhagwe, (24), who is doing a role in the serial Kehna Hai Kuch Mujhko, was arrested last week for stealing seven credit cards from her colleague Ashwin Kaur Singh and using them to purchase a home theatre system, mobile phones and clothes.
Kaur, a former producer with Balaji Telefilms, alleged that Bhagwe had stolen the cards from her purse along with Rs 900.
Bagwe, however, claimed that the charges were false and baseless and was the outcome of a professional rivalry.
