A worker was killed, another seriously injured and four others were feared trapped on Thursday when a tank exploded in a gas manufacturing unit of an ordnance factory at nearby Aruvangadu, a top official said.
A body was recovered and a seriously
injured worker rushed to nearby hospital, assistant general manager of the Cordite Factory, Anil Kumar said.
Six persons were working in the unit when the incident occurred, he said. Window panes of nearby buildings were shattered due to the impact of the blast, he said.
