Bachchan land scam: IAS officer transferred

Kushinagar District Magistrate R S Sahu, during whose tenure in Barabanki, land records were allegedly fudged to allot over two bighas of land to Bachchan at Daulatpur village, was transferred on Wednesday, official sources said.

This is the first disciplinary action against an official in connection with alleged irregularities in allotment of land to megastar Amitabh Bachchan in Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh.

The Faizabad police commissioner had recently recommended action against Sahu after a court quashed the transfer of land in Bachchan's name. Sahu's new posting has not been announced.
