A local court in Ghaziabad on Monday deferred to June 8 the hearing of Aarushi-Hemraj murder case as the local bar association struck work after a lawyer's death.

The court was slated to examine two prosecution witnesses, an electrcity department official and a forensic expert, but the same had to be deferred to June 8.

The court had ordered Aarushi's parents Rajesh and Nupur Talwar to be tried for alleged murder of the teenager and their domestic servant Hemraj on the intervening night of May 15-16, 2008.

Additional District Judge S Lal had also slapped another charge of misleading the investigation against Rajesh who had filed a First Information Report with Noida police alleging that Hemraj had killed his daughter in their Jalvayu Vihar residence.

The body of Hemraj was found in the terrace of Talwars' house on May 17. Both Nupur and Rajesh have "pleaded not guilty" and decided to face the trial. Nupur is under judicial custody and her bail plea was rejected recently by the Allahabad high court while Rajesh is out on bail.
