Brigadier Lakhbinder Singh Lidder, Sena Medal, Vishisht Sewa Medal, was General Bipin Rawat's top-most aide.
As the chief of defence staff's defence advisor, Brigadier Lidder -- a cerebral and courageous officer -- was General Rawat's primary sounding board.
The brigadier died along with General Rawat in Wednesday's tragic helicopter accident in Coonoor.
