The Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan has appointed a new spokesperson, who will work as deputy to main Taliban spokesperson Azam Tariq.

Talking to rediff.com from an undisclosed location, Tariq said, "The Taliban's Shura during its meeting has named Ihsaanullah Ihsan as deputy spokesperson whose main duties would be to represent Taliban in Mehmand, Bajuar, Khyber, Kurram and Orakzai Agencies.

"It was difficult to represent rest of the areas while setting in Waziristan so Taliban Shura took the decision for my ease," he said.

Tariq said Ihsan was 28 years old and could speak many languages.

"He knows better how to deal with media, above all he is a good Mujahid."
