Aftershock rocks Japan

November 08, 2004 10:33 IST
Another earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale rocked Japan early Monday, report agencies.

No casualties were reported from the quake, likely to be a aftershock from the massive earthquake which shook the region last month, killing 39 people and injured more than 2,000.

Thousands of people in the area are still living in temporary shelters after their homes were damaged in the October 23 earthquake, as officials warned that the aftershocks could bring down partially damaged buildings or cause major landslides.
