Democracy won in Karnataka: Rajinikanth

Actor Rajinikanth says that whatever happened in Karnataka yesterday was a victory for democracy.

"What happened in Karnataka yesterday was a win for democracy. The BJP asking for some more time and Governor giving 15 days was a mockery of democracy," he said.

"I would like to thank the Supreme Court for its order, which upheld the democracy," Rajinikanth said in Chennai.

On whether he would contest the 2019 elections, he said, "The decision to contest elections in 2019 will be taken at the time when the elections are announced. The party is not yet launched, but we are ready for anything. Also, it is too early to talk about any kind of alliance."   -- ANI
