Jaitley takes a dig at Rahul

March 05, 2018
Congress leader Kamal Nath was the butt of jokes in the Central Hall of Parliament today. As you may recall, the Congress party had sent Kamal Nath, Mukul Wasnik and Ahmed Patel to Meghalaya to ensure there would not be a repeat of Goa in the state where it had secured a majority. That, as we know, did not quite work out, with the BJP-supported NPP set to form government in the state.

So, in the Central Hall today, Arun Jaitley asked who were the AICC observers being sent to Italy as the elections in Rome were underway.

The jibe, of course, was meant for Congress president Rahul Gandhi who set off to visit his grandmother in Italy, just a few days before the NE results were announced.

The laughter of BJP MPs rang out in the Central Hall.
