Highlighting the issue of migrant families getting separated at the US-Mexico border, Eva Longoria, who recently welcomed her baby boy, said that she "can't imagine him being taken away from her."
In her Instagram post, she said that every single citizen should work towards reuniting the families.
"In light of my son's birth, I wanted to bring focus on the families that have been separated at the border. Having my son next to me, I cannot imagine him being taken from my arms. Families belong together which is why we must do what we can to reunite them," Longoria said in her Instagram post.
Longoria and her husband Jose Antonio "Pepe" Baston welcomed their first child on Tuesday.
In her post, the excited mother thanked the well-wishers for their warm wishes for her new baby.
"Hello, world! I introduce to you Santiago Enrique Baston. Thank you, everyone, for showering my baby boy with all your warm wishes!" she added.
Prior to the baby's birth, the 'Desperate Housewives' star on March had decided that her son would be raised on the basis of feminism as the world is in need of better men.
"I think it's important that he sees those types of role models in his life so he knows how to support it, how to applaud it and how to honour it," she further said.
Longoria married Baston in 2016.
