Don't have Jaya's biological samples, Apollo tells HC

April 26, 2018

Apollo Hospital submits to Madras High Court that they do not have any biological samples of former Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa. The court had sought a reply on a petition filed by a woman claiming to be Jayalalithaa's daughter. The Madras high court on Wednesday directed the Apollo Hospitals to inform it by today whether it had preserved the biological samples of Jayalalithaa collected during her hospitalisation in 2016.

Justice S Vaidyanathan gave the direction on a petition by a woman, who claimed she was the biological daughter of Jayalalithaa. On February 23, the judge had issued a notice to Apollo Hospitals on a sub-application by the woman, who sought a direction for a DNA test to establish her parentage.
