Ten persons have been killed and around 70 injured after a boiler exploded at a state-run NTPC power plant in Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh.
A top official says the number of dead and injured may rise. Most of the injured have suffered burns.
"So far 10 bodies have recovered and at least 60-70 people have been injured," UP ADG (Law and Order) Anand Kumar said.
"Our primary objective is to provide immediate medical treatment to those injured," Kumar added.
The explosion triggered panic among the workers who ran helter-skelter. The district administration rushed ambulances to the plant and directed health officials to provide prompt treatment to the injured.
