The NYC attack so far...

Update on the terror attack in Manhattan.

--  Eight people have been killed and 11 injured when a man, who has been identified as Sayfullo Saipov, of Uzbek origin, drove a rental truck through a New York city cycle lane.

--  Among the dead are five Argentinians, friends on holiday, to celebrate the anniversary of their graduation.

-- A Belgian woman, who was visiting the city with her sister and mother is also one of the fatalities.

-- Saipov, 29, was shot in the abdomen by the police and has undergone surgery and remains in critical condition in hospital. 

--  US authorities have called the attack an act of terror.
