Hoardings in RK Nagar pledge to cast vote without notes

December 21, 2017

Meanwhile, elsewhere in Tamil Nadu.

Even as voting goes on briskly in Chennais RK Nagar assembly constituency, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of late All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam supremo J Jayalalithaa, hoardings can be seen across the high-profile constituency bearing a pledge to cast ones vote, but not accept notes in return.

The bypoll was originally scheduled for earlier this year but was cancelled due to large scale offer of money by candidates to the electorate. This time, too, there have been reports that money power was in display in the constituency, but in a far more ingenious manner.
