August 06, 2016
Curfew and restrictions continued in Kashmir for the 29th day after fresh clashes erupted in the Valley killing three men, raising the death toll to 53.

Thousands defied curfew imposed to prevent a protest march to Hazratbal shrine in Srinagar, which is when the clashes broke out.

Two youth were killed in Budgam District and in Soporr. At least 20 policemen and soldiers were also reported injured.

The government had put restrictions in place in various old Srinagar areas to thwart the Friday protests in the city.
