Day 2 of Bharat Bandh: 65 arrested for Noida violence

The two-day Bharat Bandh called by trade unions entered Day 2 today. Banks will continue to remain shut.

In Noida, schools are shut today after yesterday's violence where factories and vehicles came under mob attacks. At least 65 people have been arrested for vandalising factories at the hosiery complex in phase 2 and setting 25 vehicles, including a fire engine, on fire. Violence was also reported from phase 3.

Mumbai: Expect a normal Thursday in the city, which remain largely unaffected by the bandh yesterday. Banks and RTOs will be shut today.

Public transport in other cities could be affected again.

Delhi: Few autos are off the roads. However, DTC buses are not participating in the strike.

Kolkata: Few taxis are plying on roads. Most of the factories and shops are open, reports NDTV.

Lucknow: State transport buses are not running here today and all public sector banks are closed.

Bangalore: Schools and colleges are shut. Fewer autos and taxis can be seen on the roads. Shops are open.
