While we wait it out for the truth, and presumably, pictures of Mullah Omar's dead body, here's news from India.
Mala Sen, writer of the critically acclaimed film Bandit Queen, died of cancer at the Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai. She was 64. Sen had been diagnosed with cancer some months ago. She had come to India from London for treatment and died last morning.
Sen was mostly known for her collaboration with director Shekhar Kapur for Bandit Queen (1994), the film based on the life of Phoolan Devi, a dacoit-turned-politician.
"RIP Mala Sen, a life spent in search of creative self expression, writer tht led me 2 Bandit Queen," Shekhar Kapur said on twitter.
