Norway PM seeks 'fair treatment' for mobile co

Norway's prime minister has urged his Indian counterpart to ensure "fair treatment" for Telenor amid fears that the Norwegian mobile operator's Indian business could be in jeopardy from the telecoms licensing scandal now rocking India.

The Financial Times reports that the letter from Jens Stoltenberg, Norwegian prime minister, reflects growing concern over the fate of Telenor's Indian operations, after its local joint-venture partner, Unitech Wireless, was formally charged this weekend of the rigging of a wireless spectrum auction.
