India said on Monday the attack near Lahore proved once again that terrorist activities have been continuing unchecked in Pakistan but refused to draw a parallel between the incident and the Mumbai strikes.

"I am shocked. It once again proves that terrorism has not been eliminated in Pakistan and was rather continuing unabated," External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee told media-persons after a poll rally in Murshidabad district of West Bengal.

Home Minister P Chidambaram said India was deeply concerned over the development. "We condemn these terrorist attacks. We condemn all terrorist attacks," he told reporters in Delhi when asked
to comment on terrorists storming a police training centre near Lahore.

Asked whether he saw any parallel between the Lahore incident and the Mumbai attacks, he replied in negative. "But, the commonality is these are terrorist attacks. The difference is that in Mumbai the source of terrorist attack was Pakistani soil. In the case of (Lahore) attack we do not know who is behind it," Chidambaram said.

Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma said, "Pakistan will have to continue dismantling the terror infrastructure on its soil which is a threat to several countries". India was shocked and saddened at the attack on the police academy, Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon said but refused to hazard a guess at this stage on who was responsible for it.
