India on Monday condemned the deadly terror attack on a police training centre in Lahore and asked Pakistan to continue dismantling the terror infrastructure on its soil.

"We condemn the attack in Pakistan," Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma told media persons in New Delhi.

He said the attack showed that the terror infrastructure in Pakistan was growing.

Pakistan will have to continue dismantling the terror infrastructure on its soil which is a threat to several countries, Sharma said.

At least 22 policemen, including eight officers, were killed and 30 others injured when a group of heavily-armed terrorists stormed a police training centre near Lahore and took several hostages.

Army well prepared
Expressing serious concern over the latest terror attacks in neighbouring Pakistan, India Army on Monday said the armed forces are well prepared to tackle "any spill over" of Pakistan's problems on to India.

"The Indian armed forces are prepared at all times should there be a spill over of any kind of problems on to our side," Vice Chief of Army Staff Noble Thamburaj said, responding to queries.

Maintaining that India wanted stability in the entire South Asia neighbourhood, he said the region would attain the much-needed prosperity only if peace prevailed.
