Bangladesh still at risk of sabotage, says Hasina

"Bangladesh is at risk of more sabotage," on the pattern of last weeks bloody mutiny by the nations's paramilitary force, which left 73 people dead, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has warned. "The conspirators are not finished yet," she said while cautioning that her administration will have to remain alert.

Her comments come as officials said evidence was emerging of alleged 'outside role' in the carnage of army officers.

Speaking at a seminar to mark Bangladesh's independence hero Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's historic March 7 speech, in Dhaka, Hasina said "the mutiny might have gone further,".

Prime Minister said her own life was at risk as she described the massacre of army officers as highly condemnable. "I don't know whether I could speak here today," she said in her first comments outside Parliament on the mutiny, quoted by an online newspaper bdnews24.com.

"Many do not like the incident to end so soon; the game is still on and the conspirators are not taking a break," she told the audience on Tuesday. The mutiny was the first big crisis faced by her government more than two months after she won a landslide verdict in elections that ended two years of army-backed rule.
