The condition of Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray, who was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai following complaints of fever, is stable, doctors attending on him said on Friday.

The fever has come down but he is very weak and feeling exhausted, doctors said, adding that the Sena patriarch needed complete rest.

Doctors added that the results of all medical tests are normal.

Thackeray has been kept in the Intensive Care Unit and visitors are not allowed to see him, they said. He may be discharged after two or three days, doctors attending on him told PTI.

Thackeray, 82, was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital in suburban Bandra on Thursday after he complained of weakness and fever.
