Taliban leader hints it may not fight for Kashmir

Pakistan's Taliban leader Maulana Sufi Mohammed has indicated that Tehrik Nifaz Shariat-e-Mohammedi, which signed a peace deal with Pakistan government in restive Swat region, would not wage a struggle for Kashmiris.
    
"Wherever Muslims are suppressed and subjected to cruelty, that has to be condemned. Cruelty is cruelty but our
movement is limited to Malakand division only," Sufi Mohammed said.
    
Defending his role in sending 10,000 men from Swat to assist the Taliban in their fight against the Americans, the
TNSM leader told Outlook that "when the US attacked Afghanisatn in 2001, our organisation decided to fight along
side

the Taliban.
    
On the Swat peace deal, Sufi Mohammed said "I and my supporters are visiting different parts of the valley with our
peace march and you have seen there is peace in Swat now". He said he was at present mediating between the Taliban and Pakistan government to "ensure release of the arrested militants and capture security personnel".
