Seeking a resolution of the Kashmir issue for lasting peace, Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Thursday said the Pakistani people were disappointed that the United States Special Envoy Richard Holbrooke's mandate did not include India and hoped that the Barack Obama administration would review the matter.

"There would be no lasting peace in the region till the core issues like Kashmir are resolved," Gilani said addressing an official function in Islamabad to mark the 'Kashmir Solidarity Day' observed by Pakistan on February 5 every year.

Gilani also expressed Pakistan's political, diplomatic and moral support for the Kashmir issue and said it must be settled according to the United Nations resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people.

The world should take note of the Kashmir and Palestine issues, he said.
