Abdul Sami, the prize catch for the Bengaluru police, will be subject to a narco-analysis test on October 5, sources in the Bengaluru police department told rediff.com.

Sami, who is the first person to be arrested in connection with the Bengaluru serial blasts case, is presently being interrogated for his role in the blasts and also regarding his close association with Abdus Subhan, who the police term as the mastermind behind the Indian Mujahideen.

Both police and IB officials had said that Sami, a final year BE student, was closely associated with Subhan. He was also allegedly seen in Bengaluru at the time of the blasts. The IB also says that Sami was seen moving around with Subhan in northern Karnataka a couple of months before Operation BAD was executed.

Earlier during the day, Sami was taken to Madiwala and asked to explain as to how the bomb blasts were executed.

This is a regular exercise undertaken by the police so as to draw a mahzar, which in turn helps in filing a chargesheet.

According to the Bengaluru police, there is a lot of information to be extracted from Sami. Sami's arrest was made public on September 23. The police say that they have a strong suspicion about his involvement in terrorist activities and he also participated in key meetings of the SIMI at Castle Rock in Karnataka and Vagamon Hills in Madhya Pradesh.

The police say they have seized a motorcycle, which was allegedly stolen. The motor cycle was allegedly supposed to be used to carry out a blast in Goa in order to target Americans. Some CDs have also been recovered from Sami's residence in Bijapur.

The Bengaluru police say that Sami is an important catch for them. The Guarat police too have specifically requested for his custody. However, he will remain in the custody of the Bengaluru police who have secured his remand for the next 14 days.
