Pakistan's Islamist party leader Maulana Fazal-ur-Rahman has been chosen to head a top parliamentary panel to lobby Islamabad's case on the issue of Jammu and Kashmir.
National Assembly member Maulana Fazal, the chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam party, was elected chairman of the special committee on Kashmir on Monday, officials said.
Rana Ishaq, a member of National Assembly from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, expressed reservations over Fazal's election. Ishaq wondered how the Maulana would be able
to project the 'Kashmir issue' at the international level with Britain reportedly having banned the Jamiat leaders entry into the
country.
