The sessions court in Mumbai on Tuesday rejected a bail application filed by Kannada actress, Maria Susairaj, co-accused in the sensational Neeraj Grover murder case.

Additional sessions Judge S T Mahajan rejected the bail application observing that there was prima facie evidence of Susairaj's involvement in the murder along with her naval officer fiance and co-accused, Emile Jerome Mathew.

Not accepting the defence's arguments, the court observed that the murder was not pre-mediated as Susairaj had called Mathew 20 times from her mobile on the night of the incident (May 6) asking him to come to Mumbai.

"Susairaj's conduct after the murder was dubious, as she went to purchase stuff in order to destroy evidence," the court observed.

Susairaj's lawyer G Kannur and Harshad Ponda now plan to approach the Bombay High Court challenging the Sessions Court order.

Susairaj, in her bail application, filed last week had stated that at the most she only can be charged for destruction of evidence and not for murder of Grover, who was a creative executive with TV Production house, Synergy Adlabs.

Susairaj's counsel Harshad Ponda had argued that if the murder was pre-mediated then Susairaj would have called Mathew to Mumbai earlier and not at the last moment.

The prosecution however argued that Susairaj was angry with Grover after he failed to get her a role in TV serials and movies.
