'India will have China's answers on Monday'

Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi arrived in Kolkata on Sunday on a three-day visit to India. Jiechi said he was looking forward to his meeting with his Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi on Monday. The Indian leadership is expected to convey its disappointment to him about his country's stand at the Vienna meeting of the Nuclear Suppliers Group, which granted a waiver to New Delhi's nuclear trade.

"He is a good friend. I am looking forward to meeting him," Jiechi said about Mukherjee.   

Asked about China's stance at the NSG meeting at Vienna, he said, "You will have all the answers on Monday."

He said that China and India would enjoy long-term friendship. "China and India will work together for world peace."

He said that in recent years, China and India maintained sound momentum of all round growth, and established strategic and cooperative partnership for peace and prosperity.

The minister said that China was ready to work with the Indian government for mutually beneficial cooperation.

"China and India have been good neighbours and our relations date back to antiquity," he said.
