President Pratibha Patil in her condolence message to the people of Assam said that violence had no place in society.
Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, has strongly condemned the serial blasts in Assam.
While expressing grief over the loss of lives in the Assam bomb blasts, the PM sanctioned ex-gratia from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund to the tune of Rs 1 lakh each to the next of kin of the persons deceased and Rs.50,000 each to the persons injured in bomb blast which occurred in Assam.
Leader of the opposition L K Advani in a statement said that the incident once again proved dismal record of the Union government in tackling terrorism.
