AICC Media Committee Chairman Veerappa Moily today alleged the Rajasthan Government has become a "laboratory of corruption" and that the state was witnessing the "worst governance" ever with an "anarchy-like" situation.

"Land-grabbing, land mafia and land scandals have been the glaring episodes exposed in the BJP government and it is the anarchy ruling the state," Moily told a press conference here.

The Congress leader in Jaipur, to participate in an RPCC workshop for district and state spokespersons, said law and order deteriorated in the state with rising incidents of police firing on protesters, including Gujjars, farmers and labourers.

"(Chief Minister) Vasundhara Raje is an NRI (Non-Rajasthani Indian) in the state as in the first two years of governance, she was out of the state for 290 days... The chief minister, who can not devote time for public grievances could not rule the state effectively," Moily charged.

The Chamunda Devi temple stampede, in which 215 devotees were killed on September 30 at Jodhpur's Mehrangarh Fort, exposed state's law and order administration.

Many people were killed in police firing during the BJP rule, the Congress leader alleged and said "inefficient" governance was underway in other BJP-ruled states like Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh, he said.

Moily, a former Karnataka Chief Minister, said BJP governments in Karnataka and Orissa were protecting the Hindu fanatics of VHP and Bajrang Dal, who were openly indulged in minority exploitation and harassment.
