National Security Advisor M K Narayanan on Thursday briefed the Union Cabinet about the latest developments in the investigations into the Jaipur bomb blasts. Finance Minister P Chidambaram briefed the media after the Cabinet meeting, which was headed by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. Cabinet Secretary K M Chandershekhar was also present during the meeting.

The former chief of the Intelligence Bureau reportedly briefed the Cabinet about the modus operandi adopted by the terrorists to carry out the serial bomb blasts.

Chidambaram told the media that Narayanan and Chandrasekhar spoke about the progress made in the investigations.

Asked if any breakthrough had been achieved, he said, "I don't think we have reached a stage where we can say we have achieved a breakthrough".

Asked to comment on Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje's statement that her state would not allow communal harmony to be jeopardised, Chidambaram said the Centre and the state government share equal responsibility in maintaining law and order.

Meanwhile, the Delhi police arrested the owner of the cyber cafe, from where the e-mail claiming the responsibility for Tuesday's serial blasts in Jaipur was sent by the militant outfit Indian Mujahideen.
