Three persons, suspected to be Students Islamic Movement of India activists, were arrested from the New Housing Board colony in Morena, Madhya Pradesh, on Thursday.

The trio were arrested after the police conducted raids in the area and fake currency notes worth Rs 80,000 and four mobile phones were seized from them. One of the arrested belongs to Kayamganj in Uttar Pradesh, while the other two were from Morena, the police said.

According to the superintendent of police, the arrested persons could have links with Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence and the police would seek their remand for a comprehensive interrogation to find out their connections.

Raids were conducted following information that Naajmia, a resident of Kayamganj, and Pappu alias Sudhir Jadaun and Rajbir Gurjar (Sahrana) were hiding in a house.

During interrogation, Naajmia had revealed that the fake currency was brought from Pakistan via Nepal to Morena.
