The CPI-M on Tuesday warned the UPA government at the Centre would "face the consequences" if it went ahead with the Indo-US nuclear deal.
CPI-M politburo member Sitaram Yechuri said the outcome of the discussion between India and IAEA regarding the nuclear deal would be conveyed to Left parties by the government on March 17 at the Left-UPA Coordination Committee meeting.
"If we find that the government is going ahead with the deal, it will have to face a serious consequence though we want that UPA completes its full term at the helm," he said.

He said the LF victory in the state would not only send a message to the country about the strength of Left parties but also ''strengthen us to change the policies of the central government which are not always in favour of the people of the country.''
Yechuri alleged the UPA government had done nothing to eradicate poverty and rather tried to sell all public sector units.
"But we have always put pressure on them whenever they tried to adopt anti-people policies."
