The Telugu Desam Party (TDP), a key partner of the United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA), on Friday dismissed as "speculative" media reports suggesting that Samajwadi Party may come out in support of the Indo-US nuclear deal and bail out the Congress-led UPA government.

"Mulayam has never said that his party will align with the Congress. All the media reports talking about possible alliance between the two parties are speculative," Telugu Desam parliamentary Party leader K Yerran Naidu said.

The UNPA, he said, would hold a meeting in Delhi on July 3 during which the latest political situation, nuclear deal and the price situation would be discussed.

TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, who is currently touring coastal Andhra region as part of his mass contact programme, will participate in the meeting convened by Mulayam Singh Yadav who is the chairman of UNPA.

He said his party was strongly opposed to the nuclear deal as it was "against" the nation's interests.

Asked what would be his party's stand if a no-confidence motion was moved against the UPA government, he said, "Let us see how developments unfold. It is not proper to comment now."
