Uncertainty prevails over the fate of Gujjar-government talks as a sessions court on Thursday hears the bail plea of 25 women protestors, whose release has been demanded by the community.

Gujjar leader Kirori Singh Bainsla had on Wednesday said that he will not send a delegation to Jaipur for the second round of talks till the women, arrested for the non-bailable offence of damaging railway property, are released.

"We are waiting for the decision of the Dausa sessions court regarding the bail of the arrested women," S N Thanvi, special envoy of the state government, told PTI.

Replying to a query, Thanvi said he has not received any direction from the state government what they would do in case the court rejects the bail plea.

Bainsla who had agreed on Tuesday to send a Gujjar delegation to the state capital to resume talks with the government over the ST status issue retracted his decision on Wednesday and demanded the release of the women as a conditon before any further parleys with the government could be held.

The women were arrested by the police for damaging railway property during the 'Gujjar rail roko agitation' in Dausa district last week.

A case was registered against them under various sections of IPC and the Railway Act.
