There was a delay over the cremation of bodies of 20 people who were killed in a violent clash between police and Gujjar agitators at Sikandra on May 24.

While the family members wanted to take the bodies back to their villages for performing last rites, the Gujjars' Samaj wanted a mass funeral, said Dausa's Collector R S Yadav.

On Wednesday night, some agitators broke water pipelines at Dausa. However, the administration has made arrangement to supply water through tankers, said Yadav.

S N Thanvi, a special envoy to the Rajasthan government, told PTI over phone from Bayana that the situation at Pilu-ka-pura was peaceful.

No untoward incident was reported after Wednesday's cremation of 16 people killed in rail-roko agitation on May 23.

Meanwhile, Public Works Department Minister Rajendra Rathore said in the state capital that a letter inviting Gujjar leader Col Kirori Singh Bhainsla for talks to sort out the ST status issue was delivered to him at Pilu-ka-pura through Thanvi.

The government has not yet received any response.
