Amidst reports of his keenness for the Jharkhand chief minister's chair, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha president Sibu Soren on Tuesday said that the situation would be 'made clear' after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh returns from his impending trip to Colombo.
"Be it union ministership or chief ministership, everything will be decided only after the Prime Minister completes his foreign engagement," Soren, whose party provided critical support to the United Progressive Alliance during the trust vote in Parliament last week, said.
"The party has claims on two central posts, but it will be decided only after the prime minister comes back," he said, while refusing to comment on which of the five JMM MPs would take oath as central ministers in the union government.
When asked about media reports that he was keen to take over the mantle from Chief Minister Madhu Koda, he denied making any such comments saying, "What can I do if the media writes like that?"
Soren said his first priority was to work for Jharkhand's development as the JMM had been instrumental in its creation and it was his duty was to fulfill the aspirations and dreams of the people.
"I had fought for separate statehood. So my first priority is to serve in the interest of the state and its development," he said.
