Rs 1 lakh for B'luru blasts victim's kin

Karanataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Friday announced compensation of Rs 1 lakh for the family of the lady who lost her life in Friday's serial blasts in Bengaluru. Speaking to reporters on Friday, Yeddyurappa while condemning the attack, also announced Rs 25,000 for those persons injured in the blast.

The CM who was making his first official statement since the blasts told reporters that the blasts were an act of terror aimed at scaring the people of Bengaluru.

He also said that terror outfits cannot deter the people of Karnataka and those behind the blasts will be dealt with seriously. He added that he has convened an emergency meeting of the State Cabinet to discuss the issue.

Home Minister of State V S Acharya told reporters that investigations have already begun and it was only a matter of time before the truth came out.

Acharaya assured the people of Bengaluru that there was nothing to be worried about and also added that all measures have been taken to ensure the safety of the general public. He too confirmed that the blasts were more to scare away the people rather than cause any sort of casualty in the city.
