Congress workers on Thursday clashed with those of the Communist Party of India-Marxist who held a rally against the Indo-US nuclear deal at Pratap Park in Srinagar.
Around 700 CPM activists led by state secretary M Y Tarigami assembled at Pratap Park, just outside the Congress headquarters, and raised slogans against the nuclear deal and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
As soon as Tarigami finished his address, the activists took
to the Maulana Azad Road for the rally. However, the rally was disrupted by Congress workers, leading to a brief clash.
