Former Janata Dal – Secular leader M P Prakash has managed to take everyone by surprise again.

Just when everyone thought that the senior leader had finalised a pact with the Bharatiya Janata Party, he left for New Delhi to hold talks with Congress chief Sonia Gandhi.

Sources close to Prakash told rediff.com that he will meet Sonia Gandhi and other All India Congress Committee members to discuss the possibility of him joining the Congress along with his associates.

Incidentally, Prakash had held similar talks with the BJP last week. However, sources say that the BJP was ready to offer an election ticket to only Prakash, not his supporters.

During his negotiations with the Congress, Prakash will demand tickets for all his supporters and will also bargain for a better deal for his son, who will be his political heir.

Prakash's supporters say that if his parleys with the Congress succeed, then he will announce his decision to join the Congress.
