The political uncertainty in Karnataka continued, with two senior leaders - S M Krishna and M P Prakash - keeping everyone guessing on their next plan of action.

While former chief minister S M Krishna said that he was not sure about his role in Karnataka politics, Prakash, a former JD-S leader has yet to take a decision on his political future, despite the Bharatiya Janata Party's advances.

A section of the Congress in Karnataka is pressurising Krishna to lead the party in Karnataka, but the man says that his fate depends on the decision taken by the high command in New Delhi.

Will S M Krishna come back with a bang?

Several of Krishna's supporters  in the Congress have also decided to meet senior leaders in New Delhi to urge them to take a decision regarding Krishna. His supporters feel that only Krishna is capable of rejuvenating the Congress in the state, especially among speculation that the party is in the midst of a leadership crisis in Karnataka.

Even as Krishna awaits a high command directive on his fate, M P Prakash continues to keep everyone guessing on his next move. Despite being formally invited by former chief minister and senior BJP leader B S Yeddyurappa, Prakash has not taken any decision.

Up for grabs in K'taka -- M P Prakash

The BJP, it was learnt, went a step ahead and offered all of Prakash's supporters tickets to contest the forthcoming elections. The BJP is also understood to have offered Prakash a Rajya Sabha seat.

The BJP feels that the entry of Prakash into the party will only strengthen it as he, like Yeddyurappa, enjoys the support of the Lingayat community. The BJP feels that both Prakash and Yeddyurappa are the strongest Lingayat leaders in the state and if the two work in the same party there would be no division in the Lingayat vote bank.
