The Shiv Sena on Thursday offered to provide "Marathi workers" to industrial units in and around Nashik following the exodus of many labourers in the wake of the anti-north Indian campaign led by the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena earlier this month.

Sunil Bagul, district Shiv Sena president said that production in many factories of Satpur and Ambad industrial belt in Nashik was avdersely affected after a large number of unskilled north Indian workers left Nasik due to the MNS stir against them.

Bagul said that many units have badly suffered losses and hence, they are ready to provide Maharashtrian unemployed youths for work to prevent further industrial downfall.

He also assured that youths will not be forming any unions after they join work.

There are 940 companies at Satpur industrial estate, out of which 358 were affected while 582 units are working.

In Ambad industrial area there are 480 companies, including 30 largescale and 450 small and at least 20 of them were affected, he said.

Bagul, who himself is a labour contractor, has written letters to workers' organisations expressing his readiness to provide workers in view of the present crisis in the industrial units.
