Mumbai goes cold, out come pull-overs
February 08, 2008

It is a rare sight for a warm city like Mumbai.

Since the past few days, residents of India's financial capital could be seen wrapping themselves in winter-wear, which they had locked-up in cupboards years ago.

The city had, on February 6, witnessed the coldest day of the winter season with mercury dipping to a low of 9.4 degrees Celsius. It was the coldest day in the city in 46 years.

The dipping temperature in the metropolis has been attributed to the cold wave sweeping North and Central India.

Meanwhile, the sun has become just too dear for Mumbaikers. Unfamilar with the cold weather, most residents could be seen enjoying a walk under the sun these days.
