The Mumbai police today booked Mohammed Ajmal Amir Iman, the lone terrorist caught alive during last month's terror strikes, under three more Acts.

"Ajmal has been booked under Customs Act, Foreigners Act and Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) in addition to sections of Indian Penal Code applied on him," Rakesh Maria, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), said.

Ajmal, who was caught on November 26 night, is already facing charges like criminal conspiracy, waging war against the country, murder, attempt to murder, voluntarily causing hurt, assault and use of criminal force.

He has also been booked under the Arms Act.

Customs Act has been invoked against Ajmal for illegally entering into the city limits through the sea and Foreigners Act for staying in the country without proper documents.

UAPA has been slapped against him for undertaking unlawful activities, he added.

On reports that top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Zarar Shah, captured during crackdown on militants earlier this month in the Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, has admitted to the group's involvement in the attacks, Maria said, "His name had cropped up during the interrogation of Ajmal."

"Zarar acted as Public Relations Officer for LeT. He has basically dealt in communications," Maria said, declining to reveal further details.
