President to inaugurate Governors' conference

President Prathibha Patil will inaugurate a two-day conference of Governors on September 16. The main issues that will be discussed are internal security and terrorism.

The conference will also discuss education, reservation for SC and ST, foreign policy and women reservation.

Vice-President Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and 18 Union ministers will participate. ESL Narasimhan, Governor of Chhatisgarh, will present a paper on the Naxal menace in his state.

Three Army Generals, four former IPS officers and five IAS officers, who have been appointed as Governors, are likely to read out their prepared speeches.
