J&K: Close shave for airline passengers

More than 100 passengers and crew of a private airlines had a miraculous escape after a technical snag hit the aircraft as it was about to make a landing at the Srinagar airport on Sunday afternoon.

Authorities said it was sheer luck and pilot's presence of mind that saved the JetLite

aircraft.

The pilot managed to control the plane on the runway despite the snag in the landing gear. All the passengers were immediately evacuated from the aircraft.

The runway had to be closed immediately after the snag was detected.

The aircraft was later grounded for inspection and repairs.
