Unidentified persons on Tuesday night shot dead a Rashtriya Janata Dal leader in Patna.
Pappu, who had unsuccessfully contested the Lok Sabha and assembly polls from Bhagalpur, was killed at Harun Nagar Colony, a Muslim-populated locality that falls under the Phulwari Sharief police station.
Khan was known for his muscle power and faced over dozen serious criminal charges.
The police suspect that he was killed by a rival gang.
